Role Description The Facade Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The role involves developing detailed facade concepts and translating them into precise drawings and specifications for aluminum windows, doors, railings, cladding, and glazing systems. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing shop drawings, coordinating facade details with architects, engineers, and project managers, and ensuring design compliance with safety, performance, and aesthetic standards. The Facade Designer will work closely with the production and installation teams to resolve design issues, optimize constructability, and support project delivery timelines. The role also includes reviewing material options, contributing to system improvements, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop and interpret shop drawings, including detailed sections and fabrication drawings.
• Solid understanding of facade and facade design principles, including structural and aesthetic considerations.
• Knowledge of cladding systems, materials, and installation techniques.
• Experience with glazing design, including glass selection, framing systems, and performance requirements.
• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other relevant design tools.
• Degree or diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Awareness of building codes, safety standards, and facade performance criteria (thermal, acoustic, water/air tightness).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to solve design and coordination issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional project teams.
• Prior experience in facade design or building envelope projects, especially with aluminum systems, is highly beneficial.
