About the opportunity
Our client is looking for a Digital PR Specialist to become the first dedicated PR hire within their growing search marketing team. They work exclusively with B2B software companies across the US, Canada, and the UK, helping clients earn high-quality media coverage through timely, relevant PR campaigns.
They've built an AI-powered platform that scans the news daily, surfaces relevant story opportunities, drafts initial pitch angles, and identifies journalist contacts. Your role is to identify the opportunities worth pursuing, refine the messaging, and build relationships that turn timely pitches into media coverage.
What you will do
Own the pitch pipeline
- Review the daily AI-powered news radar and identify the most relevant story opportunities for each client.
- Refine AI-generated angles into compelling, journalist-friendly pitches that align with each client's expertise.
- Take ownership of the entire outreach process, from sending pitches and following up consistently to securing earned media placements.
Build real journalist relationships
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with journalists and editors across relevant publications.
- Learn each publication's editorial guidelines and tailor pitches to maximise acceptance while minimising unnecessary revisions.
- Respond quickly to journalist enquiries and manage conversations through to successful publication.
Track and improve
- Monitor and log outreach activity, media placements, and campaign performance across multiple client accounts.
- Identify patterns in successful pitches and use those insights to continuously improve future outreach strategies.
- Work confidently with AI-powered tools, applying your own judgement and editorial instincts to decide which opportunities are worth pursuing.
Who we are looking for
- You have 2–4 years of experience in Digital PR, media relations, journalist outreach, strategic outreach, or high-quality link building with a strong outreach component.
- You've written and pitched under tight deadlines and have a genuine instinct for identifying newsworthy angles that align with different brands or clients.
- You've managed outreach at scale using tools such as Pitchbox, Buzzstream, Hunter.io, LinkedIn, and similar platforms, and you know how to move cold outreach conversations to successful placements.
- You're comfortable using AI as a productivity tool and know how to refine, challenge, and improve AI-generated output rather than relying on it blindly.
- You have excellent attention to detail and can adapt pitches to different editorial guidelines with minimal revisions.
- Your English is native-level or equivalent, with a strong understanding of cultural nuance, idiomatic language, tone, and audience expectations.
Bonus points if you have
- Existing relationships with journalists covering B2B SaaS, sales technology, retail, or adjacent industries.
- Experience managing outreach across multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Previous experience working in an agency environment.
