Role Description The Assistant Professor in Travel & Tourism Management will be responsible for planning and delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions aligned with the program curriculum. Responsibilities include designing course materials, updating syllabi, assessing student performance, and providing academic mentoring and guidance. The role involves conducting research, publishing in relevant journals, and contributing to departmental academic initiatives and accreditation requirements. The faculty member will collaborate with colleagues on curriculum enhancement, industry interface activities, educational tours, and student projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Khanna, requiring active participation in institutional events, committees, and student development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong university teaching and classroom management skills, with experience in Travel & Tourism Management or closely related disciplines.
- Competence in curriculum development and instructional design to create and update outcome-based course content.
- Research skills, including the ability to undertake academic or applied research, publish findings, and guide student research projects.
- Understanding of organizational behavior and its application to hospitality and tourism contexts, including team dynamics and service culture.
- Knowledge of marketing principles as applied to travel, tourism, and hospitality industries, including destination marketing and customer engagement.
- Relevant postgraduate degree (e.G., Master’s or PhD) in Travel & Tourism Management, Hospitality, or a related field, in line with regulatory norms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to teach and mentor a diverse student body.
- Proficiency with educational technology, learning management systems, and basic productivity tools.
- Ability to collaborate with industry partners for internships, guest lectures, and field visits, and to support student placement activities.
