Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join the HOPE Program, Mental Health Division at Pascoe Vale.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:
The HOPE Clinician is a key member of the Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) Team and provides time-limited, intensive therapeutic support to consumers experiencing suicidal crisis where psychosocial stressors are a significant contributing factor.
The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive psychosocial assessments, brief therapeutic interventions, collaborative safety planning and care coordination to support consumers following presentation to hospital or referral to the service.
The HOPE Senior Clinician works in partnership with consumers, families, carers and internal and external service providers to reduce suicide risk, strengthen psychosocial supports and promote recovery.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Senior clinician provides person-centred, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care through outreach, clinic-based and telehealth interventions.
The role contributes to safe and responsive service delivery and supports continuity of care for consumers transitioning between acute, community and primary care services.
This position also provides both informal and formal supervision to the clinical and non-clinical team of the HOPE program through mentorship and role modelling.
This is a Part Time, Ongoing Position working 40 hours per fortnight.
