Job Purpose:
To lead and manage all commercial, finance, costing, procurement coordination, inventory control, statutory compliance, and commercial operations at the plant level. The role is responsible for ensuring effective financial controls, cost optimization, accurate accounting, working capital management, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all plant commercial activities and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Monitor plant profitability and prepare periodic MIS reports.
- Review and analyze conversion costs, and operational expenses.
- Coordinate with corporate finance for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor product costing, BOM costing, and variance analysis.
- Analyze raw material consumption, yield, wastage, and process losses.
- Ensure proper inventory accounting and valuation.
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, WIP, finished goods, consumables, and spares.
- Conduct periodic physical verification and reconciliation of inventories.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce carrying costs and stock discrepancies.
- Review purchase requisitions and purchase orders from a commercial perspective.
- Monitor procurement compliance with approved budgets and policies.
- Coordinate vendor onboarding, commercial negotiations, and payment terms.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, GST, Customs, FEMA, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate internal audits, statutory audits, cost audits, and tax audits.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and audit requirements.
- Implement internal controls and compliance frameworks.
- Prepare budgets and periodic forecasts for plant operations.
- Monitor budget utilization and analyze deviations.
- Present monthly commercial performance reports to management.
- Support insurance claims and risk management activities.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive cost optimization initiatives.
Educational Qualification:
Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA)
Experience:
15–18 years of experience in manufacturing industries.
Minimum 10 years in a senior plant commercial leadership role.
Experience in steel, engineering, infrastructure, power, or heavy manufacturing industries preferred.
