Job Role - Eyewear Counselor
Job Responsibilities
Consulting with Clients:
- Conduct one-on-one consultations with customers to understand their vision needs, preferences, and lifestyle requirements (e.g., office work, sports, fashion).
- Review customers' eye prescriptions, if provided, and recommend the appropriate eyewear (glasses, contacts, or sunglasses).
Eyewear Selection:
- Assist customers in selecting frames that complement their face shape, skin tone, and personal style.
- Recommend lenses based on specific vision requirements, such as single vision, bifocals, progressive lenses, or lenses for specific activities (e.g., blue-light blocking for screen time).
Providing Product Information:
- Explain different lens types, coatings (e.g., anti-reflective, scratch-resistant), and frame materials (e.g., metal, plastic, titanium).
- Offer guidance on the maintenance and care of eyewear to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
Fitting and Adjusting Eyewear:
- Ensure proper fitting of eyewear to the customer’s face to guarantee comfort and accurate vision.
- Adjust the frame to ensure the correct positioning on the nose and ears, so the glasses are comfortable and functional.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering guidance on eye health, and ensuring customer satisfaction with their eyewear purchase.
- Assist with returns, exchanges, or repairs of eyewear, and resolve any issues related to the eyewear experience.
Managing Orders and Follow-up:
- Place orders for eyewear and lenses, ensuring timely delivery to the customer.
- Follow up with customers regarding the status of their orders and ensure timely pickup or delivery.
Knowledge of Vision Correction Options:
- Stay informed about the latest trends in eyewear, lens technology, and fashion.
- Educate customers about the different vision correction methods available, such as glasses, contact lenses, or surgical options (e.g., LASIK).
Sales and Upselling:
- Meet sales targets by promoting products like lenses, frames, and accessories (e.g., cleaning kits, lens cases, and lens solutions).
- Upsell premium products such as designer frames, high-end lenses, or additional features (e.g., polarized lenses).
Eye Health Advice:
- Provide basic guidance on eye care, such as recommending regular eye exams and offering general information on eye conditions (e.g., presbyopia, astigmatism).
- Refer clients to optometrists or ophthalmologists for eye exams or treatment of vision problems, if needed.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, eyewear purchases, and preferences for future reference.
- Keep track of inventory, sales, and other relevant data.
