Role & Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and frameworks such as Django or Flask.
Implement database schemas and queries for relational and NoSQL stores; optimise for performance and scalability.
Build, test and deploy containerised services (Docker) and collaborate on CI/CD pipelines to ensure repeatable releases.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement robust monitoring and alerting.
Write automated unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality.
Collaborate with product, QA and DevOps teams to translate requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
5+ years of professional experience building backend systems in Python.
Proven experience with Django or Flask for building RESTful APIs.
Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL stores.
Hands-on with Docker and basic container orchestration concepts; comfortable working with CI/CD workflows.
Solid experience with Git-based version control and collaborative branching strategies.
Experience writing automated tests (unit/integration) and debugging production issues.
Preferred
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and familiarity with services like RDS, ECS/EKS or S3.
Knowledge of background job systems (Celery/RQ) and message brokers (Redis/RabbitMQ).
Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK) and performance tuning.
