ROLE OVERVIEW
MARQAIT is seeking a Frontend Developer with full-stack capabilities to build our AI-native marketing platform. You'll work across the frontend while understanding backend systems, leverage AI-assisted coding workflows, and contribute to a product that empowers small businesses globally. This is a hands-on role in a flat, bias-to-build early-stage startup where technical excellence meets product simplicity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement responsive, intuitive UI/UX for the MARQAIT campaign builder and dashboard
Build frontend components using modern frameworks (React/Next.js) with a focus on Radical Simplicity
Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs, understand data flows, and optimize frontend-backend communication
Write clean, maintainable code with AI-assisted tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.) while maintaining quality standards
Debug and optimize frontend performance across devices and browsers
Contribute to backend features where needed (Python APIs, database queries, microservices logic)
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and product decisions
Take ownership of frontend infrastructure, testing, and deployment pipelines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of professional frontend development experience
Expert-level proficiency in React or Next.js
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
Working knowledge of backend concepts (APIs, databases, authentication, deployment)
Practical experience with Python (can read, debug, and contribute to Python code)
Proven experience using AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar)
Familiarity with version control (Git) and modern development workflows
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in ambiguous situations
Ability to start immediately or within 1 week
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Full-stack experience (working on both frontend and backend in production)
Experience with AI/ML integrations in web applications
Knowledge of Node.js or serverless architectures
Experience with design systems and component libraries
Familiarity with marketing/SaaS platforms
Open source contributions
Experience in startups or fast-moving environments
